A Texas builder that constructs upper end homes along the South Carolina coast won seven trophies at the Lighthouse Awards recently at Hilton Head Island.

David Weekley Homes, which also builds in the Charleston area, cited two of its houses that took home three awards each.

The Hilton Head Area Home Builders Association sponsors the LightHouse Awards, which go to local home building professionals “for their demonstration of excellence and quality of craftsmanship in the construction of homes throughout the greater Beaufort County region,” David Weekley points out.

According to the builder, its winners were:

• The Battery Creek model, located in May River Preserve. It received awards for best bath, best kitchen and best overall home. “Situated on a lake front home site, The Battery Creek includes three bedrooms, two full baths, two half baths, study, bonus room and a screened outdoor living area with sliding pocket door to enjoy the natural beauty of this scenic community,” David Weekley Homes says.

• The Fieldhurst design, a traditional Lowcountry home in Hampton Lake, which was named for best bath, best exterior and best overall home. “Located at 26 Marsh Court, this 2,200-square-foot home features three bedrooms, two full baths, study, bonus room, a two-car garage and a covered rear porch overlooking the wooded preserve.” Further, the upstairs bonus room includes a wet bar and pool table, “ideal for entertaining or watching TV,” the builder says.

• Best brochure and marketing piece for David Weekley Homes’ corporate brochure.

The Houston-based company builds in close to 30 markets nationwide including greater Charleston and the Hilton Head Island area.
