Carolina One Real Estate Services presented $1,300 checks to five nonprofits this month as part of its periodic charitable contributions program.

The groups are Blissful Dream, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church Hope House, Camp Rise Above and Summerville Meals on Wheels.

The CORE (Carolina One Real Estate) Contributions Committee selects grants for five nonprofits a few times a year. One Carolina One Real Estate agent from each of the company’s dozen offices in metro Charleston sits on the committee. Tom Tillery and Paige Pollack chair the council, launched in 2006.

The committee distributes funds to groups in Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester counties. Grants are designed to “improve the quality of life in each of these counties by supporting the various organizations that serve their respective communities,” Carolina One says. Over the past decade, the company’s donations have totaled nearly $200,000.

Nonprofit organizations that serve people who live in Berkeley, Charleston or Dorchester counties can apply. Completed forms can be faxed to the committee at 843-577-6274, and questions should be directed to Tillery at 843-577-0001.
