The chic Freeman’s Point neighborhood between peninsula Charleston and Folly Beach features waterfront lots encompassing custom houses that cost less than $1 million.

FrontDoor Communities and Ashton Woods Homes are showing eight home sites along “picturesque” Seaside Creek on James Island priced in the $700,000s and $800,000s.

According to the builders, prospective home buyers “can live the waterfront lifestyle” in various ways. They can choose one of two available homes under construction, select a home site and a custom home plan from award-winning architects, or design their own house from the approved Builder Guild list.

The creekside houses maximize marsh and water views, according to Ashton Woods Homes and FrontDoor Communities. The dwellings in Seaside at Freeman’s Point tout double porches on certain plans to bring out coastal views, chef-style kitchens, open living spaces “ideal for entertaining” and owner’s suites designed as peaceful retreats with great views.

The two homes being built are the Tidalview floor plan from FrontDoor Communities and the Sycamore from Ashton Woods Homes.

According to builder marketers, the Tidalview priced at $849,900 includes four bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms with the owner’s suite on the main level. There are also large front and rear porches, kitchen with large island and opening to the family room, and rear doors that extend the family room to the rear porch providing unobstructed coastal views.
