Columbus, Ohio-based Designer Shoe Warehouse will join several other retailers in the former Kmart-anchored shopping center in Mount Pleasant, the property manager announced Thursday.
The retailer plans to open a 15,000-square-foot store at the new Bowman Place during the third quarter of the year, joining Dick’s Sporting Goods, Nordstrom Rack and Kitchen & Company.
The property is managed by Charleston-based Grove Property Fund LLC.
The former Kmart center is being totally renovated at the juncture of Johnnie Dodds Boulevard and Interstate 526.
DSW promises “Designer shoes. Warehouse prices” and each store stocks nearly 25,000 pairs of shoes, from casual and athletic shoes to top-brand dress shoes.
“With DSW’s long track record as one of the nation’s top shoe retailers, we believe there is no better choice than DSW to join Dick’s Sporting Goods, Nordstrom Rack and Kitchen & Company at our Bowman Place development.” said Donna Patterson, regional property manager for Grove Property Fund LLC.
DSW operates 391 stores in 42 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
