Aeromexico committed to buying 100 Boeing airplanes Wednesday in what has been called the biggest investment ever by a Mexican airline.

The commitment, which is not yet a firm order, includes up to 90 single-aisle 737 MAX jets and 10 787-9 extended Dreamliners, according to announcements by both the airframer and the airline.

The Dreamliners will allow Aeromexico to replace older aircraft on their European, Asian and South American routes, according to the Boeing release. I

t’s not clear if the Aeromexico 787s will be assembled and delivered from the Dreamliner complex in North Charleston.
