An investment group has purchased the building that until last month housed former Moe’s Downtown Tavern on lower Cumberland Street.

The new owner plans to keep it as a restaurant.

The buyer of the 3,000-square-foot property was Grafton Inns Charleston LLC, which is registered to Christopher Egan. The seller was Trailer Park Hustlers LLC.

The real estate firm of Cushman & Wakefield|Thalhimer said today that broker Mark Erickson handled the $1.25 million sale.

“The new owners plan on introducing a new restaurant concept in the coming months,” the company said in a statement.

Moe’s Downtown Tavern closed in late April after a five-and-a-half year run. The original Moe’s Crosstown Tavern on Rutledge Avenue remains open.
