Eatabit, a local startup that developed a patented system for restaurants to take orders through text messages, will be featured on MSNBC’s “Your Business” this weekend.

Co-founders Stewart Moore and Greg Oleksiak were selected to appear on the program’s “Elevator Pitch” segment, when entrepreneurs step into an elevator with investors and national experts and pitch their business concepts within 30 seconds. The program will air at 7:30 a.m. on Jan. 25.

Eatabit was picked for the slot on the national show because it “employs an innovative business model than can quickly grow globally,” Moore said in a written statement.

Last year, the startup graduated from the Harbor Accelerator program in Mount Pleasant and drew interest from investors after participating in another pitch event at the Dig South Festival.

The order-by-text service is now available in five local restaurants including D’allesandro’s Pizza, Paisano’s Pizza and Brown Dog Deli.
