3 iconic Grand Strand businesses close their doors

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Three iconic businesses on South Carolina’s Grand Strand have closed their doors with the end of the summer tourist season.

Local media outlets report that Harold’s on the Ocean in North Myrtle Beach, which provided live music to locals and visitors for 35 years, closed Monday.

Planet Hollywood has also closed after 19 years in Myrtle Beach. A grand opening party for the restaurant in 1997 featured such celebrities as Bruce Willis and Will Smith.

MagiQuest, which offered families a live role-playing game and had been a fixture on the Grand Strand at Broadway at the Beach for the past decade, has also closed.
