Home Team BBQ will start construction on its third Charleston area restaurant in February.
The barbecue business will build a new 4,500-square-foot restaurant at 126 Williman St. on Charleston’s upper peninsula near Edmund’s Oast restaurant and bar, and Blue Acorn and SIB tech firms.
It will feature indoor and outdoor seating with a 50-foot bar on one side and windows overlooking the outside patio next to an oak tree. The expanded bar menu will offer more than 100 specialty bourbons and whiskeys. Live entertainment also will be featured.
“This is an exciting day for Home Team BBQ,” said pitmaster and owner Aaron Siegel. “We have been working on expanding our locations for some time and have always wanted to be downtown. The area is nicely developing around us, and we are ecstatic to be part of growing this area of town. Now our diners can come downtown, right off Interstate 26 and the Arthur Ravenel Bridge, for the things they have come to love at Home Team BBQ and then experience some new and exciting additions to the menu. We cannot wait to open and look forward to bringing our food to downtown.”
The project architect is Dan Sweeney of Stumphouse Architecture.
Home Team BBQ has other restaurants in West Ashley and Sullivan’s Island.
