Grimaldi’s Pizzeria of Scottsdale, Ariz., will make its South Carolina debut late this summer when it opens a new restaurant at Mount Pleasant Towne Centre.

The New York-style pizza shop will take over the building at 1244 Belk Drive left vacant in August 2010 when Benito’s Brick Oven Pizza pulled out after its 10-year lease expired.

The 150-seat pizzeria will sell hand-tossed, coal-fired, brick-oven pizzas, calzones, salads and desserts in a 4,000-square-foot indoor area and patio. It will offer beer and wine as well.

Grimaldi’s Pizzeria currently has 27 locations across the U.S., including Texas, Nevada, Florida, Arizona, and its flagship stores in New York City.

Adding on

Anna’s Linens plans to add a second shop in metro Charleston by August.

The home furnishings store is readying a site at Ashley Crossing Shopping Center in West Ashley.

Its other store is at 7800 Rivers Ave. in North Rivers Marketplace shopping center.

Going dark

RoomStore, which filed for bankruptcy in December, is closing all of its more than 50 stores in the Southeastern U.S., including one at 7558 Rivers Ave. in North Charleston. Everything in the store is on sale.

Its parent company, Heilig Meyers, filed for bankruptcy in 2000. RoomStore was the only remaining part of the company.

The company’s founder, Gary Levitz, was killed in a plane crash in 1999.
