Andi Eddlemon wants to pamper you. That's why she opened Lavish Nail Boutique, a new salon at 938 Savannah Highway in West Ashley.
Eddlemon didn't like feeling rushed and ignored while getting manicures at other local salons. A nail technician herself, Eddlemon converted a shabby-chic old house into a laid-back salon where she serves up coffee, massages and conversation, along with a menu of nail services.
"It's focused more on luxury and enjoyment than the maintenance of getting your nails done," she said.
Health-conscious spa-goers will be pleased to note that Eddlemon uses non-toxic and organic products from lines such as Get Fresh and Zoya. And the salon is thrifty, too; a manicure and pedicure combo starts at just $40.
Change of address
SIG Lighting and Fixture Supply Showroom, a Charleston-based purveyor of bath, kitchen and lighting fixtures, has closed its West Ashley showroom, formerly at 19 Magnolia Road.
The company, owned by Mills Hawkins, will resurface at 511 King St. in late February. The storefront formerly was occupied by Wonderland, a children's boutique that closed in January.
According to company vice president Brent Moore, SIG Supply decided to move to upper King after searching for lower rent and a smaller, more manageable retail space. Offerings at the new showroom will include designer plumbing fixtures, shower heads and faucets. Styles will run the gamut from vintage to modern.
Smooth move: In mid-February, FreshBerry Frozen Yogurt Cafe is slated to open at 39 George St. FreshBerry is the latest franchise from Beautiful Brands Inc.
