The Homeownership Resource Center, a division of the nonprofit Family Services Inc., and RBC Bank are holding a free consumer credit education forum this week for residents who are struggling with finances.

The session is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. Thursday at North Charleston City Hall, 2500 City Hall Lane.

An expert panel will provide information and resources about how consumers can address various issues related to credit and debt management.

The forum “will work to educate consumers so that they are aware of some of the ways that they may work to improve or re-establish their credit while sustaining their housing and financial assets,” said Carolyn Lecque, a facilitator and trainer for the North Charleston-based Homeownership Resource Center.
