Banking

Robert G. Phillips has been named regional executive for NBSC’s south coastal region, an area that includes Charleston, Berkeley, Dorchester and Beaufort counties. He has more than 32 years of banking industry experience. He joined the bank in 1999 as vice president of business development and was promoted to senior vice president in 2000. He has a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of South Carolina.

Credit union

Emily Reynolds has been promoted to senior vice president and chief development officer at Heritage Trust Federal Credit Union. Previously, she was vice president of marketing and business development, and prior to that she was a consultant for Towers Watson in Los Angeles. She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia.

Hotel

Chesley Owens has been named director of sales of the Holiday Inn Charleston Historic Downtown, which is scheduled to open in November. She has a bachelor’s degree from Elon University.

Intermodal

Rick Pound has been promoted to corporate director of operations at ASF Intermodal based in Charleston. Previously, he was terminal manager of the Mobile, Ala., company’s intermodal drayage facility in Charleston. He has more than 20 years of industry experience.

Law

Matthew A. Hopper has joined Wigger Law Firm Inc. He practices in the areas of personal injury, workers compensation, employment law, security law and estate planning. He has a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Clemson University and a law degree from the Charleston School of Law.

Manufacturing

Dan Gallagher has been named chief financial officer of MeadWestvaco Specialty Chemicals Division in North Charleston. He has been with the company for more than 10 years.

Real estate

Norris Law and Richard von Werssowetz have joined Carolina One Real Estate as sales associates.

Law is based in the firm’s Trolley Road office in Summerville. Previously, he was co-owner and president of Law’s Wholesale Inc. Also, he is the owner of NSL Investments LLC.

Von Werssowetz is based in the firm’s Broad Street office in downtown Charleston. He has degrees from Georgia Tech and Harvard Business School. He has more than 20 years of experience in real estate development as well as in business operations and analysis.

Restaurant

Matthew Barclay and Melissa Evans have joined Jimmy John’s in Mount Pleasant.

Barclay is general manager. Previously, he was director of food and beverage at the Hilton Garden Inn in North Charleston. He has a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Cincinnati. Evans is assistant manager. She has a bachelor’s degree in hotel and restaurant management from Purdue University.
