Kathy Eckert has joined Au Pair Care as area director in Charleston. Previously, she was editor and publisher of “Kids on the Go, The Charleston Area Guide to Great Places to Take Kids,” and she was director of public relations for Benefitfocus. com.

Joey M. Thomas has joined Harbor National Bank as vice president of construction lending. He is based in the bank’s mortgage division headquarters in Mount Pleasant. He has more than 35 years of banking and mortgage industry experience.

Beth Abeyta has joined The Muhler Co. as architectural sales representative in the new construction division. She has more than six years of industry and interior design experience.

Brittany Orzech has joined the Mount Pleasant office of Hussey Gay Bell & DeYoung Consulting Engineers as an engineer in the water and wastewater department. She has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a minor in environmental engineering from Clemson University.

Rachel Roman has joined Glasspro as an internal sales representative in the company’s customer call center. She has an associate degree in management.

Also, Daniel Kale has joined the company as a technician. He has more than 15 years of industry experience.

Dr. Thomas Oma Hester has joined Charleston Ear, Nose & Throat Associates as an ear specialist. He has a bachelor’s degree in biology from St. Andrews Presbyterian College and a medical degree from East Carolina University School of Medicine. He has completed surgical internships at Bowman Gray and the University of Kentucky and a residency at the University of Kentucky.

W. Johnson Stevens III has been named president of Yonges Island-based Stevens Towing Co. Inc. He has been with the company since 2007 and has served in a variety of operations and management positions. He succeeds William J. “Bill” Stevens Jr., who is chairman of the board and chief executive officer.

James Fife has joined AAIPharma Services Corp. as senior director of parenteral operations for the company’s manufacturing facility in North Charleston. He has 24 years of experience in the contract manufacturing industry with a focus on parenteral products. Most recently, he was director of manufacturing operations for Grand River Aseptic Manufacturing Inc.

Gary Gooden has joined the Mount Pleasant office of Agent Owned Realty as an agent. He has a bachelor’s degree in math from St. Francis College. He also is a teacher at Ashley Ridge High School.
