Higher education

The College of Charleston School of Business has appointed Robert E. Frash Jr. chairman of the department of Hospitality and Tourism Management. He joined the school in 2005. He has a doctorate in hospitality and tourism management at Purdue University. Before returning to academia, Frash worked in the food service industry for 30 years.

Hospice

Vanessa Admiral Collier has been named clinical director of Piedmont Hospice of Charleston. Previously, she was assistant nurse manager for the Medical University of South Carolina's hospital options pool. She has a bachelor's degree from MUSC and a master's degree in nursing from the University of Phoenix.

Insurance

Nick Boeschen and John Spence have joined Anderson Insurance Associates. Boeschen is a life and health producer and Spence is an insurance producer. Boeschen, has bachelor's degrees in biology and Spanish from Wofford College and a master's in environmental studies from the College of Charleston. Spence has more than six years of commercial insurance experience.

Investment

Nicholas Safrit has joined Elliott Davis Investment Advisors as a financial adviser in Charleston. Most recently he was a vice president with Charles Schwab. He has the Accredited Asset Management Specialist and Certified Financial Planner designations, as well as Series 7 and 66 licenses. He has bachelor's degree from Southern Methodist University and his master's in business from the University of Oregon.

Law

Attorney F. Truett Nettles II has joined Grimball & Cabaniss LLC as counsel at the Charleston-based law firm. He will practice in bankruptcy, construction, commercial transactions, litigation and commercial real estate. He has a bachelor's degree in economics from Furman University and a law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law.

Nonprofit

Eileen Rossler, Keisha Frost and Jamie McKanna have joined Trident United Way.

Rossler is vice president of education and program evaluation. Previously, she was an associate executive director at Community Maternity Services in Albany, N.Y. She has a bachelor's degree in social work from the College of St. Rose and a master's degree in social work from the State University of New York in Albany.

Frost is a resource division development director for the education, industry and technology categories. Previously, she was product sales manager at the Girl Scouts of America. She has a bachelor's degree in speech communications with an emphasis in public relations from the University of Washington.

McKanna is a resource development division director responsible for retail, industry and funded-partner sectors. Previously, she held a similar position at the United Way of Rhode Island. She has a bachelor's degree in parks, recreation and tourism development from the University of Missouri.

Publishing

Michael P. Chauvin will join The Post and Courier as classified advertising manager for print and digital sales, effective Aug. 9. Previously, he was with the Asheville Citizen-Times in North Carolina where he most recently managed digital and retail sales. He has worked in a variety of management roles at the newspaper, including online advertising manager, automotive and real estate sales manager, classified inside sales manager and operations sales manager. He has a bachelor's degree from Montreat College and an associate's degree in applied science for information systems and networking technology from Southwestern Community College.

Real estate

Chris Corbin has joined Daniel Island Rentals as a leasing and customer relations specialist. Previously, he was with Daniel Island Real Estate. He has a bachelor's degree from Hunter College.

Technology

Clarke Wallace has been promoted to vice president of carrier client services for Daniel Island-based Bene- fitfocus to serve as the strategic partner liaison between the company and its carrier clients. He has a bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia and a master's degree in business administration.
