Lauren Minors and Mary Anna Phillips have joined Charleston-based SGA Architecture. Minors has joined the Charleston office as marketing coordinator. Phillips has joined the Pawleys Island location as an interior designer.


Tim Monaghan has joined Wells Fargo Private Bank as an investment manager in the Charleston office. He has more than nine years experience in the financial services industry. He has a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Memphis.


George Roberts has joined The Winkler Group as a senior consultant. Previously, he was director of partnerships at Blackbaud Inc. Prior to that he has worked with several major corporations. He has a bachelor's degree in marketing and management from Jacksonville University and a master's in business administration the University of North Florida.


Stefanie Penland has been promoted to curriculum coordinator at Daniel Island Academy. Previously, she was a full-time teacher with the school for three years. She has a bachelor's degree in early childhood education from the College of Charleston.


Richard B. "Rick" Werts has joined Stantec's South Carolina office as senior traffic and safety engineer for the Southeastern United States. Previously, he was director of traffic engineering for the S.C. Department of Transportation. He has a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Clemson University.

Health care

Dr. Himanshu Singh has been named assistant director of the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston. Previously he was clinical informatics director for the VA Southeast Network since 2005. He also has served as acting assistant director at the Augusta VA Medical Center and acting associate director at the Columbia VA Medical Center. He has a doctorate degree in medicine from Spartan Health and Sciences University.


Chris B. Paton has joined the Rosen Law Firm in Charleston as an associate. He has a bachelor's degree from New York University and a law degree from St. John's University School of Law. Previously, he was a law clerk to Circuit Judge Joseph M. McLaughlin on the Second Circuit Court of Appeals in New York. Prior to that he was an associate in the New York City office of an international law firm, where his practice focused on securities and merger-related litigation.


Ashley Jolly has joined Charleston-based Obvious-lee Marketing as a marketing strategist. Previously she was a marketing manager for Blue Water Benefits in Mount Pleasant and an event marketer and customer marketing coordinator for Blackbaud Inc. She has a bachelor's degree in marketing communications from Winthrop University.


Anthony L. Jenkins has been named branch manager of Ikon Financial Group's new office on Landmark Drive in North Charleston. He has more than eight years of experience in the mortgage industry. Previously, he was a branch manager for Mortgage Network. He has a bachelor's degree from The Citadel.


Lasley Poe Steever and Meredith Siemens have joined The Gibbes Museum of Art.

Steever is program and events manager. She worked on special events for the 2010 Spoleto Festival USA and at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She has a bachelor's in art history and fine art from Duke University.

Siemens is rental events coordinator. Previously, she was editor for Where Magazine. She has a bachelor's in communications and English writing from DePauw University.

Also, the Charleston museum has promoted Sara Arnold, Marla Loftus, Rebecca Sailor, Janet Scarborough and Pam Wall. Arnold, formerly associate curator of collections, is curator of collections. Loftus, formerly director of communications, is director of museum relations. Sailor, formerly education and outreach coordinator, is associate curator of education. Scarborough, formerly director of finance and administration, is chief financial officer. Wall, formerly associate curator of exhibitions and interpretation, is curator of exhibitions.

Office supply

Claire Peters has joined Wulbern-Koval Co.'s office furniture division as interior designer and project coordinator. Previously, she was an interior designer with GJS Architects in Mount Pleasant. She has a bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia.


Judy Hastings has joined Summit Place of Daniel Island as director of sales and marketing. She has more 13 years of experience in the retirement and assisted-living industry. Previously, she was with Ashley Park Retirement Community.
