Michelle Carl has been promoted to senior staff accountant in the Summerville office of Webster Rogers. She is a certified public accountant and specializes in audit and attest services to the construction and manufacturing industries. She has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Presbyterian College and master’s degree in accountancy from North Carolina State University.

Rory G. Parsley has joined Harbor National Bank as assistant vice president and manager of the James Island branch.

She has more than 33 years of banking industry experience. She attended the Baptist College at Charleston and Shelby State College.

Brian Carter has joined SouthCon Building Group as a project superintendent.

He has more than 15 years of on-site management experience in the construction industry. Previously, he was a superintendent at Hitt Contracting Inc. and Gulf Stream Construction.

Martha Hurley has been named head of the criminal justice department at The Citadel. She has a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Furman University, a master’s degree in sociology and a doctorate in criminal justice, both from the University of Cincinnati. She has more than 10 years of experience working in the field and is the author of two books.

Terence van Arkel has joined Trident Medical Center as chief operating officer, responsible for all operating planning and capital projects at the North Charleston hospital. Previously he was COO, chief financial officer and interim chief executive officer at Doctors Hospital in Augusta. He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and accounting from Stetson University and a master’s degree in business administration from Western Governor’s University. He is a certified public accountant.

Dr. H. Del Schutte Jr. has joined Southern Orthopedics in Mount Pleasant. Previously, he was on the medical faculty of the Medical University of South Carolina for 21 years. He has a bachelor’s degree from Southern Adventist University and a medical degree from Loma Linda University Medical Center. He completed a fellowship in adult reconstructive surgery at the University of Arizona.

Bobby Daniel Sessoms has joined the law firm of Clawson & Staubes LLC in an of-counsel capacity. He practices in the firm’s litigation section. Previously, he was in-house counsel with State Farm Automobile Insurance Co. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and a law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law.

Darlene Zimmerman, Frances Bramlett, Laura Faulders and Lori Tuttle have been promoted at The Citadel Foundation.

Zimmerman is assistant director of business operations.

Bramlett is vice president while remaining director of donor relations, Faulders is director of class reunion campaigns. Tuttle is interim director of annual giving.

Dr. Berdine Burger has joined Mount Pleasant Ophthalmology. She has a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from Washington and Lee University and completed a retina research fellowship before her ophthalmology residency at the Medical Univeristy of South Carolina’s Storm Eye Institute.

Monica Hatch and Laura Curley have joined Lennar as new home counselors.

Hatch is based at Wentworth Hall. Previously, she has worked with Anderson Homes, Ryland Homes, Brentwood Homes and AgentOwned Realty. She has an associate degree from Trident Technical College.

Curley is based at Fairmont South and The Abbey at Spring Grove Plantation. Previously, she has worked for Ryland Homes, Century 21 Properties Plus and Verizon Wireless.

Ree Myers Davies has joined Carolina One Real Estate as an agent based in the Summerville Main Street office. She has 23 years of experience and has a degree from Palmer College.

Brian Parkhurst has joined Charleston-based Ted’s Butcherblock as chef. He attended Johnson & Wales University and has worked at Peninsula Grill, Mercato, Al di La and Fulton Five. Most recently, he was sous chef at Cru Catering.
