Jaros

Jimmy King has joined Ameris Bank as a mortgage banker. Previously, he was with Regions Bank. He attended Appalachian State University.

Helen Pratt-Thomas has joined South State Bank as a senior wealth commercial banker and is based in the downtown Charleston office. Previously, she was with Wells Fargo. She has a bachelor’s degree in Latin and Greek from the College of Charleston.

Thomas Blackwell, Christopher Harrison and Christopher Roberts have joined ECS Carolinas LLP’s Mount Pleasant office. Blackwell is construction materials testing project manager. Harrison and Roberts are construction materials testing field technicians.

Dr. Michael Lyons of the Greenwood Genetic Center’s Charleston office has been promoted to associate clinical geneticist. He has a medical degree from the Tufts University School of Medicine and was a pediatrician in the Air Force. He completed a residency in medical genetics at Stanford University.

Christopher Jaros has joined K&L Gates as an associate attorney based in the Charleston office. He focuses on civil litigation and environmental matters. Previously, he was an associate at Arnold & Porter LLP in Washington, D.C. He has a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Brown University and a law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law.

Shawn R. Willis has been elected a shareholder in Turner Padget. He is based in the Charleston office and focuses in the areas of commercial real estate, banking, taxation and corporate law. He has a bachelor’s degree from Furman University and law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law.

Vincent Halma has been promoted to president and chief executive officer of Summerville-based KION North America Corp. Previously, he was chief sales officer. Before that, he was managing director in the Netherlands and vice president of sales for Western Europe at STILL GmbH.

Jennifer Bright has joined PNC Mortgage, a division of PNC Bank, as supervising loan officer for coastal South Carolina. She has 17 years of mortgage industry experience. She has a bachelor’s degree from East Tennessee State University and a master’ from Eastern Kentucky University.

Patricia Ann Fuchs and David J. Piazza have joined Carolina One Real Estate Services as sales associates.

Fuchs is based in the U.S. Highway 17 office, Mount Pleasant. Previously, she was a sales and marketing director for Lu- cent Technologies. She has a bachelor’s degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Piazza is based in the downtown Charleston office. Previously, he worked as a dockmaster, EMT and baker. He has a bachelor’s degree from Tulane University.

Doug Roland has joined NAI Avant’s Charleston office as investments sales adviser. He has nine years of real estate industry experience. Previously, he was an associate at Marcus & Millichap. He has a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Georgia.

Jane Dowd has joined William Means Real Estate as an agent. She has nine years of real estate industry experience. She has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the College of Charleston.
