April Burgess has joined First Citizens as assistant vice president and retail sales manager based in the bank’s North Main Street office in Summerville. Previously, she was a personal banker and store manager with Wells Fargo. She has a bachelor’s degree from Longwood University.

Trip Bull, Steve Gaddy and Anne Harris have joined Renaissance South Construction Co.

Bull and Gaddy are lead carpenters and project managers. Bull has been in the construction industry for 15 years, and has been a project manager for 13 years.

Gaddy has been in the construction industry for 27 years, and has been a project manager for 16 years.

Harris is marketing and office manager. She has a bachelor’s degree in communication from Clemson University.

Hugh Owens has joined the Charleston Regional Development Alliance as director of global business development. He has more than 27 years of economic development experience. Most recently, he was vice president of economic development for the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce in Kentucky. He has a bachelor’s degree in history and a master’s degree in international business studies from the University of South Carolina.

Thomas L. Evans Jr. has joined GEL Engineering LLC as a survey instrument operator based in the firm’s Charleston office. He has more than six years of surveying experience.

Susan S. Risinger has been named a partner in Smith & Downey PA. She is based in the law firm’s Charleston office. Previously, she was an associate based in the Baltimore office. She has a bachelor’s degree in political science and justice studies from Frostburg State University and a law degree from the University of Maryland School of Law.

Dawn Thomas has joined Shelter Mortgage Co. LLC as a senior loan officer with The Jaffee Group. She has 18 years of finance and lending experience, and she previously was with BB&T and Wachovia.

Forrest Edwards has been named branch manager and regional area manager for Homeowners Mortgage Enterprises based in the firm’s new Mount Pleasant location. Also, Michelle Long, Donna Mozingo, Clay Hughes and Debbie Berry have joined the company as mortgage loan officers, and Terry Williams has joined the firm as office manager.

John Girault has joined the Edisto Island Open Land Trust as executive director. Previously, he was executive director of the Mount Pleasant Land Conservancy. He has a bachelor’s degree in natural resource management from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington.

Leslie Fellabom has joined Avison Young as a senior vice president in the firm’s commercial brokerage unit. She specializes in office and investment brokerage. She has 30 years of commercial real estate industry experience. Previously, she was with Southwind Commercial Real Estate LLC.

Courtney Kinowski has joined Dunhill Staffing Systems as marketing coordinator. She has a bachelor’s degree from the College of Charleston.
