Charleston County to sell properties with delinquent tax bills

Previous delinqent tax sales have drawn big crowds.

Charleston County will hold its annual delinquent tax sale of properties on Dec. 7.

The bidding starts at 9 a.m. in Council Chambers in the Lonnie Hamilton, III Public Services Building at 4045 Bridge View Drive in North Charleston.

Real estate will be sold first, with mobile homes to follow, in alphabetical order according to the owner’s last name or business name.

If the sale does not conclude that day, it will continue at 9 a.m. on Dec. 8.

Owners with properties on the sale list can have them removed by paying the county Treasurer’s Office in cash or certified funds by 5 p.m. on Dec. 4. No payments will be accepted the day of the sale.
