Gammons, visiting professor and director of the Office of Diversity at the Charleston School of Law, is president-elect; David Wolf of Wolf & Wolf LLC is secretary and treasurer; Elizabeth Scott Moïse of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP is immediate past president.

Jeff Stover and Stephanie Yarbrough have joined the executive committee of SCBIO as legal officer and annual conference officer, respectively. Stover is special counsel with Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd, and Yarbrough is a partner with Womble Bond Dickinson LLP.

Also, Mike Graney, Kathy Phlegar and Christine Dixon Thiesing have joined the SCBIO board of directors. Graney is vice president for global business development for the Charleston Regional Development Alliance; Phlegar is president of Phlegar & Associates; Thiesing is director of academic programs for the South Carolina Research Authority.

Melvin C. Williams, vice president with S&ME Inc., has been elected to the Carolinas Association of General Contractors’ board of directors. He also was named chair-elect of the American Council of Engineering Companies of South Carolina’s transportation committee and a member of the Charleston Regional Transportation Authority’s Lowcountry bus rapid transportation advocacy committee

Jonathan Zucker, president of The InterTech Group Inc., has been appointed to the executive committee of the South Carolina Research Authority’s board of trustees.

Former Charleston Mayor Joe Riley has been named the recipient of the 2018 Ethics in Action Award from Clemson University’s Rutland Institute of Ethics.

Martha Zierden, curator of historical archaeology at The Charleston Museum, has been named the recipient of the College of Charleston’s 2018 Albert Simons Medal of Excellence.

David Dunlap, Michael Blanton, Margaret Macauley, Sherry Mason and Cynthia Cronk have joined the board of directors of the Barrier Islands Free Medical Clinic. Dunlap is retired CEO of Roper St. Francis. Blanton is product marketing leader at Blackbaud Inc. Macauley is a former educator. Sherry Mason is former financial officer at Mason & Associates and an ex-officio appointee. Cronk is former human resources director at University of California, Santa Barbara.
