He has more than 23 years of financial services, retirement planning and investment management experience. He has a bachelor's degree in finance and economics from North Carolina State University.


Steve Spear has joined The Kessler Collection as general manager of Grand Bohemian Hotel Charleston. He has 25 years of hospitality industry experience. Previously, he was with ClubCorp. He has a bachelor’s degree in hotel, restaurant and institution management from Johnson & Wales University.


Alissa Fleming has joined has joined Womble Bond Dickinson as an attorney. She is based in the Charleston office and focuses her practice on health care law. Previously, she was with Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd. She has a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Virginia and a law degree from the University of Miami School of Law.


Capt. Joseph Solomon has been named commander of the Coast Guard’s Maritime Law Enforcement Academy at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. Previously, he was deputy sector commander for Sector Miami in Florida. He has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Michigan State University, a law degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law and a master’s degree in quality systems management from the National Graduate School. He succeeds Capt. Timothy Haws, who is transferring to the Force Readiness Command in Norfolk, Va.


LaTisha Vaughn-Brandon has joined Tri-County Cradle to Career Collaborative as director of networks and community engagement. Previously, she was director of education initiatives with Charleston Promise Neighborhood, assistant associate superintendent for the Charleston County School District and principal of North Charleston Elementary School. She has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Missouri, a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Park College and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Georgia State University.

Cheryl DeMarco and Melanie Millar have joined Carolina One Real Estate as agents.

DeMarco is based in the Isle of Palms office. She has more than six years of real estate industry experience. She has a bachelor's degree from Hesser College and a master's degree in business administration from Rivier University.
