Michelle Hertel has been named an associate at LS3P Associates Ltd. She joined the firm in 2014 and is a senior interior designer. She has bachelor's degree in interior design from the University of Georgia.


Tina Johnson has joined Landmark Construction Co. as payroll and human resource administrator. She has 10 years of human resource management experience. Previously, she was human resource manager with the North Charleston Coliseum.

Cost management

Stavros Aloizos has joined SIB Fixed Cost Reduction as chief technology officer. He has more than 30 years of technology industry experience. Previously, he was founder and chief technology officer of SoftWave Media Exchange and Border City Media.

Economic development

 Alisa Frye has joined the Charleston Regional Development Alliance as a business development coordinator. Previously, she was marketing coordinator at eGroup. She has a bachelor’s degree in organizational communication with a minor in advertising and a master’s degree in mediated and mass communication, both from Kent State University.


Dana Hancock has been named principal of Daniel Jenkins Academy in North Charleston. Previously, she was the interim principal. She has a bachelor’s degree in political science and a minor in criminal justice from the University of South Carolina and master’s degrees in teaching social studies and educational leadership from The Citadel.

Kim Jackson has been named principal of Mount Pleasant Academy. Previously, she was the assistant principal at James B. Edwards Elementary. She has a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from South Carolina State University and a master’s degree in elementary education administration from The Citadel.


Katherine Hendricks has joined Davis & Floyd Inc. as leader of its local government market sector. Previously, she was assistant administrator for the Town of Mount Pleasant. She has a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in public administration from Clemson University.


Ilya Falkovich has joined Sandlapper Securities as head trader for its Fixed Income Credit Desk branch in Charleston. Previously, he was with Alliance Bernstein, Bear Sterns and RBS. He has a bachelor's degree in mathematics and economics from Columbia University.

Health care

Dr. James F. Hill III has joined the MUSC Storm Eye Institute as director of primary eye care and low vision services. He has a bachelor’s degree in biology from The Citadel and a degree in optometry from the University of Alabama School of Optometry.

Nosizi Ralephata has joined Kernodle Coleman Attorneys at Law as an attorney. She has law degrees from the University of East London and from the University of South Carolina School of Law. She has 12 years of experience of practicing law in the areas of business and civil litigation, employment and insurance coverage and defense. Previously, she was with Turner Padget Graham & Laney PA.


Meggie Hulsey has been named digital project manager at Rawle Murdy. Previously, she was an account supervisor. She has a bachelor’s degree in communication and media studies from Clemson University.


Christine Thornton has joined Carolina Youth Development Center as vice president of finance and operations. She has more than 10 years of accounting industry experience. Previously, she was chief financial officer for Pain Specialists of Charleston and Clinical Trials of South Carolina. She has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of North Georgia and a master’s degree in business administration from Webster University.

Real estate

Christain Carter and Kathy Dupree have joined Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Southern Coast Real Estate as agents. They are based in the West Ashley office.

Megan Maarouf and Kyle Nichols have joined Carolina One Real Estate as agents.

Maarouf is based in the Main Street office in Summerville. She has nine years of real estate sales experience.

Nichols is based in the Coleman Boulevard office in Mount Pleasant. He has a bachelor's degree in historic preservation from the College of Charleston and a master's degree in real estate investment and management from Edinburgh Napier University in Scotland. Previously, he was in retail management at J.Crew.

Kevin S. McDaniel has joined Colliers International Valuation and Advisory Services as a valuation services director based in the Charleston office. He has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from North Carolina State University and a master’s degree in finance from Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College. He has more than 30 years of experience.

Verna Bunao-Weeks has joined Elaine Brabham & Associates as an agent. She has a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of the Philippines.


Geoffroy Deconinck has joined the Dewberry Charleston as executive chef. He has more than 20 years of culinary industry experience. Previously, he was executive chef at Glenmere Mansion, Natalie’s at the Camden Harbour Inn and Windsor Country Club. He also owned a catering business. He has a degree from C.E.R.I.A., the Educational and Research Center of Culinary Education in Brussels.
