The top local executive for First Citizens has left the bank to join an Alabama lender that plans to set up shop in the Charleston market.
ServisFirst Bancshares Inc on Tuesday announced the hiring of Tom Trouche as its executive vice president and regional CEO for South Carolina.
“We will apply for a bank branch application for Charleston.” Tom Broughton, CEO, said in a written statement.
Birmingham-based ServisFirst said Trouche, who has about 25 years of industry experience, will be “establishing a banking presence for us in Charleston by hiring a staff of experienced bankers and locating office space.”
Other details were not immediately available.
ServisFirst Bank has no operations in South Carolina. Its retail locations are in Alabama and Pensacola, Fla., and it has a loan production office in Nashville. It also expects to finalize a deal to buy the owner of Atlanta-based Metro Bank by the end of the month.
Trouche had been with First Citizens Bank & Trust for more than decade. The Columbia-based lender was recently bought by First Citizens of Raleigh, which in November named him area executive for the Southern coastal region, which includes greater Charleston, Beaufort, Bluffton, Hilton Head Island, Lady’s Island and Savannah.
Trouche’s former role at First Citizens is being filled on an interim basis J.B. Schwiers, a bank spokeswoman said.
