WALTERBORO — A resident told police a bullet shattered his window, bounced off a wall and landed on his coffee table on Sunday.

Walterboro police responded to the Dean Street house about 5 p.m. Sunday.

The victim said he didn’t hear a gunshot but that the bullet appeared to come from a much higher location than where it hit in his kitchen. An incident report released on Monday said the bullet bounced off the kitchen wall and landed on the coffee table. It appears the shot came from near by Forest Point apartments.

Police talked to five residents of the complex who all said the shot came from Hiers Corner Road, which lies in Colleton County.

No suspects have been identified.

The case is under investigation.
