The wait is over. Soft shell crabs have started showing up at restaurants around the Lowcountry.
Red Drum, 803 Coleman Blvd., Mount Pleasant, announced Thursday's arrival of soft shell crabs from McClellanville via Instagram with the caption, "Guess what's back?"

Soft shell crab season is a short one. It typically stretches a couple weeks before and after Easter, so, as Red Drum's caption noted, it's recommended to "get them while you can."
