Places To Visit
As this summer draws to an end, many of us may find ourselves asking “what did I do?” or “where did I go?” With the ongoing pandemic, there hasn’t been many options. As a newfound empty-nester myself, I often search for interesting and safe places to go. I recently stumbled upon a very peaceful and serene park that I’ve often heard about. Just a 30-minute drive from Jamestown, Buck Hall Recreation Area is a beautiful sight to behold.
This park is located at 999 Buck Hall Landing Road in McClellanville. Many patrons of the park visit for crabbing, fishing and even to have picnics. There is also a boat ramp for boaters to enjoy the Intracoastal Waterway.
If you’re lucky, you would even bear witness to huge yachts passing thru the corridor to Charleston. The park is open to the public, free of charge. Operating hours are 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. More details about Buck Hall can be found online at: fs.usda.gov.
Happy Labor Day to everyone.
Monday Sep. 7 is the day that we celebrate everyone in the workforce.
This year is even more symbolic, because of the huge sacrifices that everyone has made during this pandemic.
A special heartfelt thank-you goes out to all of our healthcare workers, law enforcement officials, clergy members, teachers and school faculty and staff, grocery store workers, delivery drivers, postal workers and all other essential workers. Your hard work and dedication does not go unnoticed.
If you have news from the Jamestown area, send it in to Monica Nixon at firstname.lastname@example.org by Wednesday.
