MONCKS CORNER — A school bus driver and a teacher's aide were taken to the hospital this morning after a special needs bus broad-sided a truck this morning.

None of the children on board the bus were taken to the hospital but the parents of three of the students took their children out of school to be checked, said Pam Bailey, communications director for the school district.

The wreck happened about 7:20 a.m. on U.S. 17A near Berkeley Middle School in Moncks Corner.

Bailey said the parents of the bus had dropped students off at the middle school and turned out of the school into a median on its way to the elementary school.

The driver of the bus did not see the truck and the bus broad-sided the truck.
