Camraderie, tricked-out rides light up cruise-in at North Charleston rims store

A jumble of cars, SUVs and pickups took part in a monthly show in North Charleston put on by SC Rhinos Car Club.

Keeping up with its effort to switch venues as much as possible, South Carolina Rhinos Car Club last week chose the sprawling parking lot on Rivers Avenue by Rimtyme Custom Wheels for its semi-regular cruise-in.

Maybe a dozen to 15 or so pickup trucks, SUVs, muscle cars and motorcycles Sept. 19 settled into an area toward the southern side of the plaza.

Organizer Tereze Legare said the car, truck and bike “Light It Up,” which started just after dark, was in support of law enforcement month in September. Several of the big-wheeled vehicles boasted headlights lining their grilles in bright blue and red, which shone in the darkness.

The Rhinos club and fellow car clubs in North Charleston and neighboring areas hold cruise-ins at least once or twice a month to show off their accessorized vehicles while promoting community unity.
