RIDGEVILLE --- Authorities are trying to determine how a boy in the rural Dorchester County community of Geddisville sustained a gunshot wound in his arm.
The boy, whose name was not released, was treated at a hospital for injuries that are not life-threatening, Dorchester County Sheriff's Office Maj. John Garrison said.
The boy reportedly told deputies he came home from school about 2 p.m. and found a white male in his home. He asked whom the person was, and the suspect shot him, according to the report.
Garrison said investigators have not been able to determine exactly what happened. "We are not sure what we've got," he said.
