Authorities identify man shot, killed downtown this morning

A 21-year-old man was shot to death inside a downtown home early this morning.

Charleston police responded to 235 Line Street, Apt. D, at 1:24 a.m. and found Thomas Tony Shine of North Charleston lying on the floor, according to an incident report.

It appears shots were fired through the rear door of the apartment, police spokesman Charles Francis said.

An autopsy is being done this morning, Charleston County Deputy Coroner Scott Ramsey said. No suspect information was released.
