Two suspects have been arrested in a break-in at a Cainhoy home where a person was shot.
Lionel Williams, 48, of North Charleston, and Andrew Dockery, 43, of York, Pa., are charged with assault with intent to kill, first-degree burglary and discharging a firearm at a residence, said Dan Moon, public information officer for the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office. Dockery was arrest after being released from the Medical University. Williams was arrested with the assistance of North Charleston Police.
The shooting happened 2 a.m. Tuesday on Whitefalls Lane, just off Jack Primus Road. According to the homeowner, two men he didn't know entered the home in an attempt to rob him. Dockery was taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds.
Investigators said the resident and suspects exchanged gunfire inside the residence.
