Your ‘Tracks, trails’ photos are in, now send us ‘Lowcountry doorway’ photos

By Kathy Hare: This photograph of an alligator making his way across the marsh at low tide was taken at Huntington Beach State Park on 10/04/14.

Our readers found a lot of different types of tracks and trails around the Lowcountry this week.

And yet two of our favorite photos were taken at the same place from very similar angles. In the end, our editors chose Kathy Hare’s photo to run in Friday’s Post of Courier because the trail behind the impressive gator was a little more prominent than in Jim Miller’s photo. It may seem nit picky but when you receive the quality of photos we do every week sometimes you have to split hairs. But a very good job this week by everyone.

Pick up a copy of Friday’s People section to read more about what they liked about Kathy’s photo.

Next week’s assignment: Lowcountry doorways.

The rules:

- Send just one (1) photograph to by noon on Tuesday, Feb. 24. Include your name, town and where the photo was taken. If you send us multiple photos we will select one randomly.

- We will allow photographs with reasonable watermarks to run in the gallery but for the winning photo that runs in the newspaper we must have a photo that does not have a watermark. If you want to send us one with the watermark (to run online) and one without (to possibly run in the newspaper) please feel free.
