Your 'Reflections' pics shined, now send us your best 'Abandoned Lowcountry' photo

By Jim Miller: Sunset Reflections at Folly Beach - a rare windless evening at the beach. This was taken at the southwest end of Folly Beach just before "the tree" was decimated by a storm.

It was a real pleasure looking through your photos this week, each more breathtaking than the last.

In all, we received 57 submissions of everything from buildings reflecting in windows, the sky reflecting in the ocean and where people go to reflect.

After a lot of back-and-forth, our editors chose Jim Miller's photo from Folly Beach to appear in Friday's People section. Pick up a copy of Friday's newspaper to read what they think separated it from the rest.

Next week's assignment: 'Abandoned Lowcountry.' We're really excited about this topic. Send us your best shot (and please, just send one photo per photographer. It's much more easier to organize that way.)

The rules:

- Send just one (1) photograph to by noon on Tuesday, Jan. 27 Include your name, town and where the photo was taken. If you send us multiple photos we will select one randomly.

- We will allow photographs with reasonable watermarks to run in the gallery but for the winning photo that runs in the newspaper we must have a photo that does not have a watermark. If you want to send us one with the watermark (to run online) and one without (to possibly run in the newspaper) please feel free.
