A 24-year-old West Ashley man wanted in a Mount Pleasant shooting earlier this month was arrested Monday.
Darryl Nicholas Evans II, 24, last known to reside at 36 Ashley Hall Plantation Road, is charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon in the commission of a violent crime. He was arrested on King Street by the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force, according to Mount Pleasant police Inspector Chip Googe.
Evans is accused of shooting a man, who has not yet been identified, just before 8:25 p.m. April 6. The man was struck at least three times while walking on a road near Holy Trinity AME Church, according to a police report. He then walked across nearby Mathis Ferry Road and collapsed in the River’s Walk Apartments parking lot.
No information has been released about the motive for the shooting, other than that the victim was the intended target.
