U.S. Marshals on Friday arrested a man suspected of pointing a gun at another person in a dispute.
Katrell Jamaal Mitchell, 26, of West Ashley, was wanted by Charleston County sheriff’s deputies for one count of pointing and presenting a firearm and one count of possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a violent crime, arrest affidavits for the man stated.
He was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals and a Charleston SWAT team at his home on East Estates Boulevard, Sheriff’s Maj. Eric Watson said.
Mitchell was identified as a suspect in connection with a reported assault Feb. 3 at a Dodge store, 3854 Savannah Highway.
The victim told investigators that Mitchell approached him and threatened him with a gun, sheriff’s deputies said. The victim alleged that he had known Mitchell for years and that they were involved in an ongoing dispute.
Mitchell was being held Friday at the Charleston County jail pending a bond hearing.
