DENMARK, S.C. — Voorhees College is breaking ground on a new $3 million student center.
The Times and Democrat of Orangeburg reports that the historically black college in Denmark has been planning the center for three years and breaks ground on Wednesday.
The new building is expected to be finished in about a year.
It will be used for student activities and include a bowling alley, a small theater, an Internet cafe and offices for student government. It will also include housing suites for at least 30 students.
