Various events honor 9 killed in Emanuel AME Church shooting

What: Trinity United Methodist Church will host a hymn singing service to help those who are grieving. The service is open to the public.

What: The Charleston Dorchester Mental Health Center will offer a Community Gathering for Hope, Healing & Recovery, designed for community members to share with others and receive support from mental health professionals. Food will be provided.

Thursday

What: Allen University, mourning the loss of three alumni — Dr. Daniel L. Simmons, the Rev. Clementa Pickney and Tywanza Sanders — will host a Pray for World Peace Vigil in honor of all that were killed.

Saturday

What: The Zumba Instructor Network and Northwood Baptist Church will host a special Zumba class followed by a prayer vigil. The class costs $10 and there will be child care available for $1. Proceeds will go to the Mother Emanuel Hope Fund.
