Update: Water pressure back to normal in downtown Charleston

The water pressure is back to normal in downtown Charleston, according to the Charleston Water System.

Crews were working to fix a leak that caused the water pressure drop.

CWS reported via Twitter around 7:30 a.m. that water pressure was lower than normal downtown and crews were making adjustments to boost pressure. By 8:15 a.m., the pressure had been restored.

CWS said a leak in a 12-inch water main at a construction site caused the problem.
