Two suspects sought in shootings in West Ashley

Charleston County sheriff’s deputies are searching for two men believed to have been involved in a shooting that left two others wounded Tuesday night.

Law enforcement responded just before 6 p.m. to Cartwright Drive in the Ponderosa subdivision in West Ashley. Initial reports indicate that two black males drove up to the victim while he was talking to two female acquaintances and started an argument, according to Maj. Eric Watson.

The three men then got into a fight that ended with the victim being shot in his abdomen. He was taken to Medical University Hospital, but his condition is unknown.

Watson said shortly after the shooting, an additional victim arrived at Roper Saint Francis Hospital and claimed to have been shot while walking down the street near Cartwright Drive. The victim is currently being treated for a single gunshot wound.

The suspects allegedly fled the area in a white Pontiac Grand Am.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
