Two North Charleston men charged in Charleston holdup

Charleston police charged Zachary Lamar Mikell, 23, and Calvin Lamar Snipe, 24, in connection with a holdup that happened on June 14.

Two North Charleston men were arrested Sunday after a man told Charleston police he was robbed at gunpoint on Queen Street early Friday morning.

Police released surveillance photos of the two suspects Saturday.

Calvin Lamar Snipe, 24, of Suffolk Street is charged with armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, according to police spokesman Charles Francis.

Zachary Lamar Mikell, 23, of Betty Court is charged with armed robbery, three counts of assault on police while resisting arrest, two counts of throwing of bodily fluids and threatening a public official.

They are being held in the Charleston County jail.

A man said he was robbed of his wallet and cell phone at gunpoint on Queen Street shortly before 1 a.m. Friday.
