Two killed, four seriously hurt in wreck on I-95 near St. George

Two people were fatally injured and four others seriously hurt in a wreck on Interstate 95 near St. George on Sunday night, according to the Highway Patrol.

A 2002 Dodge van driven by a 39-year-old woman from Camden, N.J., went off the right side of the northbound highway around 9:45 p.m. near mile marker 77, hit a guard rail, went down an embankment and overturned, according to the report. The driver and all five passengers were seriously injured, and two of the passengers died.

An 11-year-old boy died at the scene and a 51-year-old woman died later, Dorchester County Coroner Chris Nisbet said. All are believed to be from the New Jersey area. Their identities will be released after the families are notified, he said.
