Two Bonneau residents are accused of growing about $3,000 worth of marijuana, said Dan Moon, a spokesman for the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office.

Joseph Scott Schurlknight, 52, and Tonya Schurlknight, 44, of Hoodtown Road, are each charged with manufacturing marijuana and with possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Joseph Schurlknight is further charged with possession of a stolen firearm. Narcotics investigators searched their Hoodtown Road residence Thursday, Moon said.

Investigators also found three stolen John Deere tractors worth nearly $300,000, though Moon said this was a small-scale operation with “no more than a few plants.”

Further charges were expected, Moon said.
