Turn in unused prescription drugs for safe disposal

Ever wonder what to do with those unused prescription drugs sitting around in your medicine cabinet?

Throwing them in the trash is not a good idea. Charleston police are inviting people to turn them in for safe disposal.

People can drop off prescription drugs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 26 at Sears at Citadel Mall or the police department at 180 Lockwood Blvd., according to an announcement from the police department.

For more information or to search for other locations to dispose of drugs in the Lowcountry, visit the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Office of Diversion Control online at www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov.
