A rezoning request for North Charleston’s Trailwood mobile home park drew about 60 opponents to City Council Thursday, and only the applicant spoke in favor of turning the area into an industrial zone.

Mayor Keith Summey has said he opposes the zoning change at this time, and city officials encouraged the developer to withdraw the request until there are more specifics known about what industry would go on the site — and how that would affect those neighboring the site.

A final vote could come on May 24, unless the request is withdrawn.
