FILE PHOTO/AP From 7-8:30 p.m., Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum will dedicate its Huey helicopter 66-15005 to the memory of Army Specialist Four Kenneth Plavcan, who was killed in action at the age of 21 years, while onboard the aircraft Oct. 1, 1968, during the Vietnam War.

What: The Farmers Market at Freshfields Village will feature local certified organic produce, fresh local meats, cheeses, packaged and prepared food including jams, jellies, pecans, olive oils, sweets, handmade pasta and more, as well as Lowcountry crafts including handmade bath products and sweetgrass baskets. There will also be several prepared food vendors offering BBQ, lobster rolls, kettle korn, cookies and more.

What: Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum will host a ceremony to dedicate the museum’s Huey helicopter 66-15005 to the memory of Army Specialist Four Kenneth Plavcan, who was killed in action at the age of 21 years, while onboard the aircraft on Oct. 1, 1968, during the Vietnam War. The event will be held near the helicopter, which is now located in the Vietnam Experience exhibit landside of the Charleston harbor. Specialist Plavcan was posthumously awarded a Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal and Commendation Medal with “V” Device.
