File/Paul Zoeller The Summerville Orchestra presents "Rhythms of Life" tonight.

What: The Community Center at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church will present its annual charity boutique, “Tea Time Treasures.” The work Lowcountry artists and artisans will be featured, including sweetgrass baskets, framed artwork, wooden silhouettes of Charleston landmarks and other gift items. Proceeds will support Community Center programs. All programs are funded entirely by contributions, grants and proceeds earned through fundraising events.

When: 10 a.m.- 4 p.m.

What: Artist Alyson Shotz will present a talk on here her life and career, then lead guests to her exhibition at the Halsey Institute for a gallery talk. Shotz's practice examines the properties and interactions of light, gravity, mass and space.

Where: Alumni Hall, School of Education, Health and Human Performance, College of Charleston, 86 Wentworth St., downtown Charleston

What: Party at the point is a live music and family friendly event on the beachfront with food and drinks available for purchase. No pets please.

When: 5:30- 9:30 p.m.

What: Freshfields’ Memorial Day Weekend Concert Series will feature two nights of live music for the whole family. Blankets and chairs are encouraged. Food and beverages will be sold by local vendors.

What: “Pirates! The Revenge of Colonel Rhett” is a one-act, musical “dramedy” with sword play that follows Col. William Rhett and his quest to bring Stede Bonnet and his crew to justice.

What: Summerville Orchestra presents the MWV Subscription Series finale, “Rhythms of Live.” The program includes selections from “The Lion King,” “Sibelius Symphony #2” and “Rhythms of Life for Solo Marimba, Strings and Percussion.”
