The 15th annual homicide survivors’ picnic will take place Saturday at the North Charleston Riverfront Park.
More than 200 people are expected to gather at the 11 a.m.-2 p.m. event. There will be food, games, fellowship and other activities, and kids are welcome, according to a press release from the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office. Guests are asked to bring a side dish and 2-liter drink.
A table will be set up at the picnic to display photos of victims, so survivors are asked to bring a picture of their loved one.
Transportation will be provided to those in need, who are encouraged to call for arrangements as soon as possible at 745-2250, 745-2251 or 792-2945.
The event is sponsored by the Sheriff’s Office and MUSC Crime Victim’s Center and is being hosted by the North Charleston Police Department Victim Services.
