2 teens arrested in death of Gaffney man shot behind bank

GAFFNEY, S.C. — Police have arrested two teenagers in connection with a shooting that left a Gaffney man dead.

WSPA-TV reports police took 19-year-old Lyric Antionette Morgan and a 16-year-old male into custody Thursday.

Police say Morgan and the unidentified juvenile shot and killed 47-year-old Abelardo Morales Baltazar Wednesday night in his car behind a First Piedmont Bank. Baltazar’s GMC Sonoma traveled across the street and hit a utility pole. Responding officers found Baltazar slumped over the wheel. He was pronounced dead at the scene with two gunshot wounds.

The pair has been charged with murder, armed robbery while armed with a deadly weapon and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
