Suspect arrested at school on possession of a weapon charge

COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Richland County Sheriff’s Department has arrested a suspect at Keenan High School on charges including possession of a weapon.

Richland County Lt. Curtis Wilson tells local media that 18-year-old Delijah Robinson was charged Monday with unlawful use of a telephone, weapon on school grounds and unlawful possession of a weapon. Wilson says Robinson is not a student at Keenan High.

According to a statement released by Sheriff Leon Lott, students approached the School Resource Officer with information about threats made against students. Robinson was confronted in the parking lot and arrested without incident. The statement says a gun was located in the front passenger seat of Robinson’s vehicle.

It wasn’t immediately clear if Robison has an attorney.
